The employer was prosecuted and fined £12,000.

A 17 year-old trainee was injured when an articulated vehicle, on which he was changing a tyre, fell from the jack as he worked beneath the vehicle.

What happened next?
The employer was prosecuted and fined £12,000 with costs of over £17,000 for failing to follow its own risk assessment for young persons and to maintain a safe system of work.
